this was produced pretty well! i just don't really like that weird buzzy sound in the drop and i think there could be a bit more attention put to the transitions in the track. but again, nice!! i really like the ambient-ish and also sort of funky (in a way?) atmosphere throughout the track - you have a really good knack for just coming up with really cool track ideas!

I hear a little bit of dissonance that doesn't sound right around the 30 second mark I think? Also, I think the saxophone could be mixed a little more properly; it stands out to me as being "different" from all the other instruments (I think maybe you could apply some sort of cut to the highs on the sax? But this is probably not a good suggestion). Otherwise, really nice melody and progression, maybe could be a bit more varied but I'm personally very content with it as-is. Great job!!

Something feels a little "static" to me about the track, like I feel like it could use a bit more variation in like sound design and melody throughout the track. But this still is a rly cool track!

no, i think it definitely sounds like a good solid effort at trance - i think you got the sound design and structure down. that being said, i think the melodies aren't particularly great (some notes are somewhat dissonant in a way that doesn't really sound right), and obviously there does need to be a lot more effort in adding more layers (not to nitpick but i think you do want to sidechain the instruments to the kick) but i think you definitely made a solid effort.

i will say though, that i come from a background of making music based upon ASOT and likewise "mainstream trance" so i do have a *very* different perspective on what makes a trance track trance, but i can understand that you probably don't and so it's expected that you probably wouldn't necessarily make something that "conforms". but, regardless, even though it's not the trance i necessarily know, i think this could be considered trance.

Thanks for the advice, yeah now that you mention it I realize that a lot of the melodies aren't that great, and yeah a lot of the notes are dissonant, I rushed this track in order to get it done on time so a lot of the track I just said it had to do. Also I was thinking about adding side-chaining to that kick but I didn't want to try something I've never worked with before the day before I send it in.

honestly a perfect track, especially since you made this in less than 4 hours. can't describe it, but everything just fits perfectly in this track, the breakdown just leads perfectly into the dnb drop and it just really builds the energy very very well
